Another words most of us parents especially Mum's tend to forget ourselves and give all we have to our families and especially our children. Now is the time to start to change your way of thinking , and start to take care of ourselves as well if not first as we can't give out much or be strong for our children if our buckets are empty.
This is a strong message the universe has been sending me this week after recent events , by energy levels and feel good levels are just reaching rock bottom after the event of seeing our youngest son have a anaphylaxis episode on Tuesday afternoon.
So my message today for every parent out there especially us parents of allergy children to do at least one thing a day for yourself , most of us haven't done a thing for ourselves since our child has been diagnosed ,doesn't have to cost money could be as simple as running a nice hot bath for yourself and light a few candles and sit and relax try not to think about things you have to do , take time to try to have an empty mind. There are so many things we can do for ourselves and when we are running around after our children and trying to think about everything , making sure all bases are covered when it comes to our child's safety and their allergies , we normally forget about the most important person and that's ourselves. Without our inner batteries charged or our buckets filled we end up running on empty and this in the end doesn't help any one. A simple daily ritual would be awesome and yet we could also make a ritual weekly being a bubble bath for example Thursday nights.
So for all you Mum's out there its time to get your girly on and Start feeling human again eventually even if you can leave your child or children with a spouse or a grandparent or even a friend , maybe get your hair done , go shopping or even a walk listening to your favourite music. You will so be surprised the difference this will make you feel and the difference your day will be.
Taking care of yourself is not a selfish act but an act of necessity ( our children and families need us to be the best we can be).
Lets work on filling our buckets up together (more ideas along self-care ) :) Heidi
