So hence my blogs have been far and few between.
Since last blog my little man with Egg , Latex , Banana , Strawberry Anaphylaxis was invited to a little friends birthday party. In this case what do you do ? if you have kids with life threatening allergies do you , Say no thank you they can't go ? or accept the invite and let your allergy child enjoy apart of childhood? now to be real honest in earlier days it did become quite a hurdle or stress for the thought of taking my child to a party its like putting them in a pool of knife's as such , figure of speech. Now I choose to accept the invites and pack them their our party pack so they can feel they are apart of the party as well as a lot other parents that not use to deal with kids with allergies and Epipens tend to not like the idea of you handing it to them and walking away for the length of the party , so i tend to be there the whole time with them in saying that in the background so they don't feel i'm uncool ha ha ha .
Well for this occasion I was taken by huge surprise that the mother of the birthday boy checked everything she was having so it didn't have egg and even didn't have balloons just so my little man could be safe at his friend's birthday. If she was unsure heading up to the party she contacted me and asked I felt so appreciative of the effort she went into it.
That morning of the party I organised to make some egg free , nut , dairy , soy , wheat FREE mini mud cake muffins to take to the party ( as I knew that she wouldn't have the idea to make them egg free so no cakes would be there) oh must admit I was told one item would have egg and that would be the birthday cake , which while i am there was fine.
Overall my muffins were a huge hit with the adults first and then the kids and all of which didn't even realise they were allergy friendly ones ( as normally they taste like crap) and with years of practice and a million muffins up my sleeve I had to get something right ha ha :)
So overall was a successful afternoon at the party and my little man wouldn't have know any different.
Thank you for you following and reading my blogs many more to come .
